HOMELAND FIRE DEPARTMENT of the state is calling on the public to help it save a community that has been plagued by wildfires since late August.
The department said Thursday it has issued a wildfire evacuation order in the small town of Guttenberg, Minnesota, in the southernmost part of the western state.
The city has been without power for more than a week due to the fire, which has charred more than 4,000 acres and destroyed more than 100 homes.
The fire started late last week near a community in the town of Lakewood, according to the department.
It is now burning in a remote area and authorities are still trying to determine how it started and who started it.
